Northwestern University Press has nominated Bill Olsen's Avenue of the Vanishing for both a Pulitzer Prize and a National Book Award.Olsen is a recipient of fellowships through the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Breadloaf. His three previous collections of poetry are The Hand of God and a Few Bright Flowers, Vision of a Storm Cloud, and Trouble Lights.
